Greetings from Uganda and from our school St. Patrick.

I would like to start my column by thanking our sponsors who sent letters along with me last September to their students. They were very thrilled to receive them and it gave a personal connection.

Secondly I thank you for the Christmas gifts you sent to the children. They were extremely happy together with their parents. Some of the children had outgrown their uniforms and some uniforms were old and so they used the money to buy new uniforms.

The 2025 school year started well on February 1 for the boarding students and on February 3, day scholars also reported for beginning of classes. We now have a total enrollment of 923 students. These include additional 15 new sponsored children that we added this year on our sponsorship program. Thank you again to our sponsors. We have six new teachers that were recruited to join the faculty. Everyone is excited about the new year and there was great jubilation with the excellent PLE results for our 2024, P7 graduates. A good number of our students have joined top notch secondary schools.

We had planned to start sewing classes this school year but due to scheduling conflicts these will start in the Second term.

We haven’t used the latest new parcel of land that we purchased because we haven’t had rain for a long time. It’s still too dry now to do any agriculture there.

We continue to thank all of you our esteemed community of supporters. You have touched and changed the lives of these children. We hold you so dearly and always keep you in our prayers.

With love and renewed blessings.
